Don't care about the ponies? Prefer to opt out of the Derby madness and try something different? The Price Is Right Live could be just the ticket.
The version of the long-running television game show is coming to Lexington on Saturday, offering a chance to win real prizes and hear your name attached to the famous catchphrase "Come on down ..." (You can hear the theme music in your head can't you?)
Emceeing The Price Is Right stage show is like revisiting a favorite part of his childhood for the Lexington stop's host, Mark L. Wahlberg.
The host of PBS's Antiques Roadshow takes the Price Is Right gig as his schedule allows.

"That Price Is Right music brings me right back to the living room," said Wahlberg, who is not to be confused with the bodybuilding movie star of the same name. "Whenever there is a gap (in the schedule), I jump in and grab a little bit of fun."
As much as he loves the job, he said, it doesn't matter who is hosting because "the show is the star, the games are the star."
For the stage version of The Price Is Right, the games are on display on a set that looks like the one on television. There is a Big Wheel to spin, there are models to point in the general direction of an array of fabulous prizes, and there are audience members hoping they will have a shot at a big showcase and perhaps take home a BRAND ... NEW ... CAR!
Wahlberg said the live show has been around for a long time in places such as Las Vegas. But the tour, he said, was started during the past few years.
He said people who have loved the show on TV for 40 years are eager to be a part of the live experience.
"The energy is just through the roof," he said. "The audience comes in pumped."
In addition to showcases and games, the format allows him to give out other prizes including T-shirts and gift cards between sets. "We want to have as many winners as we can," he said.
He said the game show was a "real reality show"
"If you pay attention, get a little bit of luck, you can be really rich," he said. "I think that is one of the things about this game show that is fun. There are no tricks to being good at it."
