The Woodford Theatre offers Something Extra

The Woodford Theatre in Versailles is expanding its programming with a series called Something Extra. The series started with an evening of music by Dolly Parton to celebrate the theater’s current production of 9 to 5 by Parton, which closes Sunday afternoon.

Three more Something Extra events are planned before the end of the year:

PianoLust! University of Kentucky musicologist and Herald-Leader contributing arts critic Tedrin Blair Lindsay presents his one-man show dedicated to his love of the piano. He first presented the production last spring at the Lexington Opera House. 8 p.m. Oct. 26 and 2 p.m. Oct. 27.

Ringing in the Holidays. An ensemble of area choirs and other musicians join forces for a holiday prelude the weekend before Thanksgiving. 8 p.m. Nov. 23, 2 p.m. Nov. 24.

A Christmas Memory. Fred Foster, a professional actor who honed his skills on Lexington stages, portrays author Truman Capote telling one of his most beloved tales. 8 p.m. Dec. 23.
