The Cooking Channel and Kentucky chef Jason Smith are back for more great Lexington goodies.

This time, the Food Network’s “The Best Thing I Ever Ate,” features Wallace Station’s Country Ham and Pimiento Cheese sandwich, made with thin-sliced ham and a homemade white Cheddar pimiento cheese.

Smith, of Grayson, will highlight it on the Feb. 5 show, which follows chefs and food stars as they share their favorite foods from around the country. The show featuring chef Ouita Michel’s Midway restaurant airs at 9 p.m.

It’s the second time that Wallace Station has hit the national food consciousness: host Guy Fieri picked Wallace Station’s The Big Brown Burger as one of his Top 5 burgers for the Food Network program “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives.”

To celebrate, Wallace Station will have specials on Feb. 5 and 6: Get a Country Ham and Pimiento Cheese, Ale-8-One and a Midway Bakery cookie for $9.99 or with West Sixth beer for $12.99.

On Jan. 29, the show will celebrate Crank & Boom Craft Ice Cream’s Bourbon Ball Sundae.
