Downtown restaurant celebrates anniversary, adds weekend brunch

Corto Lima, 101 West Short is planning an anniversary celebration from 4-6 p.m. Wednesday. The restaurant, which features house-made Southwestern-inspired cuisine, will have specials.

Owners Jonathan Lundy and TJ Cox will break open a piñata filled with gift cards, T-shirts and other birthday treats.

And, after a year, Corto Lima is adding a brunch menu. On Saturday and Sunday, beginning at 11:30 a.m., the restaurant will offer items such as blue corn waffles, a breakfast burrito and special brunch arepas.

Brunch cocktails will include the “Corto Limosa” made with prickly pear and a Bloody Maria with the choice of vodka or tequila.

Corto Lima is open from 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday through Monday and until 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. It’s closed on Tuesday.
