Mark your calendars, sports fans: The long-awaited bar from Matt Jones and Kentucky Sports Radio will open later this month.
On Twitter this week, Jones announced that KSBar and Grille will open Aug. 30.
The bar at 1030 South Broadway, which will be joined to a Tilted Kilt opening later this fall, hopes to become the headquarters for Wildcat sports fans. Earlier this year, Jones said he planned to let fans park at the bar and shuttle to Kroger Stadium.
“Our hope is it becomes the number one spot in Lexington to watch all sports,” Jones said in April, adding he hopes to be open by mid-August. “Our goal is to get it open before the first football game.”

The bar will just make it: The home football opener for the University of Kentucky Wildcats against Central Michigan University is Sept. 1
On social media, KSBar and Grille has been posting photos of the bar’s progress, including memorabilia that has been offered for the bar’s walls.
The menu at KSBar will be high-end sports bar but appropriate for all ages, Jones said, with burgers and barbecue.
Tilted Kilt, an Irish/Scottish-themed sports pub, will have a broader menu with some “Brit” themed dishes available, too, said Jamie Daniel, owner of the Tilted Kilt with his wife, Jessica. They are investors in KSBar, too.
Both restaurants will have seating for more than 200 and will be family friendly, with TV-covered walls and beer taps.
And there will be a separate room for private parties that can be reserved through either restaurant.
The Tilted Kilt also will have pool tables and dart boards for sports fans. KSBar also will have an outdoor dining area with a Wildcat blue and white patio cover.
