If you're feeling festive, there are a lot of New Year's Eve options in Lexington and beyond, whether you want to party until the ball drops or dine out then head home. Here are just a few:
■ Azur Restaurant & Patio, 3070 Lakecrest Circle, will celebrate 10 years while ringing in the New Year with a four-course prix fixe dinner Dec. 31. Honoring the Lexington community's support for the past decade, Azur will offer live music at 8 p.m. and a midnight champagne toast. Reservations are required; three seating times are at 5 p.m., 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. offering a menu of favorites from Chef Jeremy Ashby like lobster crepes, winter greens salad and stuffed gnocchi caprese. ■ Wines on Vine, 400 Old Vine Street, will have a menu featuring a three-course dinner with a complimentary glass of champagne for $49. Choice of entrees from Berkshire pork chop in a portabella Dijon sauce or lobster tail and beef tenderloin medallion or pan-seared salmon in dill cream.
■ The Holly Hill Inn, 426 North Winter Street in Midway, celebrates the new year with a Good Luck Foods dinner menu, beginning Dec. 31 and continuing through the weekend. Seven-course tasting menu served New Year's Eve, $75. Tasting menu and four-course menu, $45, available Friday, Jan. 2, and Saturday, Jan. 3. Closed Jan. 1. Entrees include pork and beef, slow-roasted, and carved tenderloin of beef with candied fresh bacon; duck three ways, seared breast of duck on a cake of duck confit with seared foie gras; and golden brik, roasted butternut squash, chiffonade of cabbage and pearl barley, wrapped in filo and pan seared with apple rosemary puree and chive oil. ■ "Prospero Ano y Felicidad." Come ring in the new year, Brasabana style. Brasabana, 841 Lane Allen Road, is celebrating New Year's Eve with dinner choices that feature Cuban cuisine with a Latin flare. With three seatings at 5:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.; cost is $26.95 per person plus tax and gratuity and will feature the music of the Big Maracas. ■ In Louisville, Proof on Main, 702 West Main St., will have a Christmas Eve a la carte and family-style dinner Dec. 24 for $42, from 5 to 9 p.m.
Chef Levon Wallace will have a farm-to-table meal of Proof favorites and other holiday-inspired dishes, including black skillet fried chicken with black pepper-honey and thyme biscuits, and heirloom pumpkin donuts with dark chocolate and spiced pepitas.
For New Year's Eve, Proof will have either a la carte dinner or four-course, $140 prix fixe dinner with party ticket from 5:30 to 11 p.m. And on New Year's Day, Proof on Main will have a hangover brunch, a la carte, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
■ In Louisville, celebrate a very Pappy New Year at The Bristol Bar & Grille downtown, 614 West Main St. Executive Chef Ramon Forcelledo pairs a flight of Pappy Van Winkle bourbon with a four-course dinner. ■ New Year, new concept: La Coop: Bistro à Vins, 732 E. Market St. in Louisville, will end operations following a New Year's Eve event Dec. 31. Owners of the Southern-inspired French bistro will close the NuLu restaurant and have made arrangements for a new restaurant concept to take over the space Jan. 1.
