His NFL aspirations cut short in 2017, could J.D. Harmon find a new role as a reality television star?
Harmon, a 24-year-old Paducah native and 2017 University of Kentucky graduate, is among the cast members of season 2 of MTV’s “Ex on the Beach.”
According to the show’s website, “Ex on the Beach” is a social experiment, where “10 smoking-hot celebrity singles think they’re running away to a tropical island for a once-in-a-lifetime romantic vacation full of fun and sun. But just as the party is getting started, unwanted guests arrive to break up their good time. Paradise turns into a nightmare when their exes start emerging, and everyone is left wondering whose ex will be next.”
Harmon is listed among the “exes” on the show. The cast is full of reality TV stars from past seasons of “Teen Mom,” “The Bachelorette,” “The Challenge,” and “Big Brother,” among others.

One message board devoted to the show lists Harmon’s ex as Maya Benberry, who appeared on “Catching Kelce” and won the affection of Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce before they later broke up.
While that may be speculation, Benberry and Harmon have a connection. Benberry is also from Paducah, where she competed on the track and field team at Paducah Tilghman High School with Harmon.
Season 2 of the show takes the cast to Malibu Beach. The season debuts on MTV Dec. 20.
“I don’t think y’all ready,” tweeted Harmon when announcing he was on the show last week.
Harmon was signed as a free agent by the Cleveland Browns following the 2017 NFL Draft but was cut shortly before the season began.
He appeared in 49 games for the Wildcats and finished with seven career interceptions.
