Here we are at Tuesday night of the networks' big premiere week. As last night proved, sometimes the big moment come from the tried and true, like when Harlan's Jordan Smith slayed the judges on the season premiere of The Voice.

Tonight's lineups seem to have more humor in store. Here are some highlights, once again with tips from TV Remote writer Chuck Barney (CB) and Associated Press TV critic Frazier Moore (FM).

8 p.m.

ABC. The Muppets. Our favorite fuzzy critters make a welcome return to prime time in The Muppets. Cameras follow Kermit and the gang as they work on the nightly talk show Up Late With Miss Piggy. — CB

CBS. NCIS. Season premiere of the one with Mark Harmon.

Fox. Scream Queens could be a bloody good time — or a complete turnoff. It's a slasher spoof full of gore and gags about a college sorority targeted by a masked killer. — CB. If you like campy horror and pretty girls, then you can count on creator Ryan Murphy to deliver with Fox's Scream Queens. — FM.

NBC. The Voice. Will anyone top last night's blind audition by Jordan Smith of Harlan?

8:30 p.m.

ABC. Fresh Off the Boat. Season premiere of one of last season's better received new sitcoms.

9 p.m.

ABC. Dancing with the Stars.

CBS. NCIS: New Orleans. Season premiere of the one with Scott Bakula, which started last season.

10 p.m.

CBS. Limitless. If CBS' Limitless can sustain the dark yet endearingly quirky tone of its premiere, then this sci-fi romp could prove as addictive to viewers as the mind-expanding pills its hero is hooked on. — FM

NBC. Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris. Last week's series premier of NPH's live variety series got mixed reviews. But it's live, it's a new thing, so let's see how this week goes.
