Friday has long been something of a forgotten night for TV, so the schedule is loaded with reruns and news magazine shows. The exception is CBS, which has season premieres of long-running hits tonight. Here's a quick snapshot of tonight's lineup, with a few tips from TV Remote writer Chuck Barney (CB).

8 p.m.

ABC. Fifth season premiere of Last Man Standing.

CBS. Season 27 premiere of The Amazing Race, one of the better-regarded reality-competition shows.

Fox. Rerun of Minority Report.

NBC. Rerun of Best Time Ever, which aired live earlier this week. You won't be able to get a certain Bonnie Tyler song out of your head.

The CW. New episode of Masters of Illusion features magicians Titou, Aaron Radatz, Tommy Wind, Farrell Dillon, Piff the Magic Dragon, Fielding West and Greg Gleason.

8:30 p.m.

ABC. Rerun of the darker, more risque The Muppets.

The CW. Whose Line is it Anyway.

9 p.m.

ABC. Ashton Kutcher needed something to do after Two-and-a-Half Men. He's on Shark Tank this week.

CBS. Hawaii Five-0 kicks off a new season and, as usual, there's trouble in paradise. A murder leads the team to investigate a centuries-old Oahu palace raid involving pirates and buried treasure. — CB

Fox. Rerun of Miami-based doctor-detective series Rosewood.

NBC. Two hours of Dateline NBC.

The CW. Penn & Teller: Fool Us

10 p.m.

ABC. A new 20/20 reviews the O.J. Simpson murder trial.

CBS. In the season premiere of Blue Bloods, Frank (Tom Selleck) grows concerned that a major threat to New York City may be imminent after a terrorist attack in the Middle East. -- CB

Note: Since there are no season or series premieres Saturday night, we will not have a 'What's on TV' feature tomorrow. You'll be watching the Cats, anyway. This feature will return Sunday.
