Jan. 14: The tough challenges continue for the contestants on Your OWN Show: Oprah's Search for the Next TV Star. This week, they have to produce makeover segments while designer Vera Wang serves as guest mentor. 9 p.m., OWN.

Jan. 15: Break out the sashes and the bathing suits for the 90th Miss America Pageant. Brooke Burke and Chris Harrison host the event in which pretty young women smile a lot and try not to say anything ridiculous. 9 p.m., ABC.

Jan. 16: Here it is: Your annual chance to see movie and TV stars get dressed up, get sloshed and then attempt to coherently accept awards on international television. The leading nominees are The King's Speech in movies and Glee in television. Ricky Gervais, right, hosts the 68th Annual Golden Globe Awards. 8 p.m., NBC

Jan. 16: Lest we take the Rescue Me star and Ford truck pitchman too seriously, Denis Leary is back as a stand-up comedian with a new special for Comedy Central. Denis Leary and Friends (we can't print the rest of the special's name in a family newspaper) will feature fellow comics Adam Ferrara, Lenny Clarke and Whitney Cummings and lots of snarky, loathing humor — which might be the perfect antidote to two hours of the Golden Globes. 10 p.m. Comedy Central
