Jan. 21: Allison DuBois (Patricia Arquette) should have seen this coming. After seven spooky seasons, her supernatural series, Medium, comes to an end with a finale that starts with her family in the present and follows them 40-plus years into the future. 8 p.m., CBS.

Jan. 22: In the TV movie Backyard Wedding, Alicia Witt stars as a med-school grad who returns to her hometown to plan her nuptials. Her plans hit a snag when a former flame (Teddy Sears) shows up and causes her to re-evaluate. 9 p.m., Hallmark.

Jan. 22: British science-fiction show Primeval sees students encountering an ancient carnivore that shows up at their school. 9 p.m., BBC America.

Jan. 23: The NFL playoffs continue with the AFC and NFC championships. The NFC championship (Packers vs. Bears) begins at 3 p.m. on Fox, while the AFC championship (Jets vs. Steelers) starts at 6:30 p.m. on CBS.

Jan. 23: In a new episode of The Simpsons, Homer starts parenting based on one of his favorite 1980s sitcoms. David Mamet, the Oscar-nominated screenwriter of Wag the Dog and The Verdict, is a guest voice.
