Lexington Art League names new director

The Lexington Art League will promote from within its ranks to fill its vacant executive director position.

Stephanie Pevec, who has served as the LAL's development director since 2008, replaces Allison Kaiser, who left in June to become executive director of the Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra.

The Lexington Art League is the city's oldest and largest visual arts organization.

Before joining the LAL, Pevec was education and exhibitions director for the Wayne Center for the Arts in Wooster, Ohio. She recently worked with The Art Museum at the University of Kentucky to curate The British Are Coming! Discover the New English Art Club, an exhibition featuring British contemporary paintings from private collections. She is also a classically trained dancer and dance instructor and in June debuted her own dance company, the Contemporary Dance Collective.
