The 5191 Care Fund Advisory Committee is finalizing plans for remembrances of the plane crash that killed 49 people on Aug. 27, 2006, at Blue Grass Airport.
A memorial service will be open to the public at 7 p.m. Aug. 27 in the Mitchell Fine Arts Center at Transylvania University.

Music at the service will be provided by First United Methodist Church, Pleasant Green Baptist Church and Beth Arnold of Transylvania.
Speakers will include Mayor Jim Newberry of Lexington; Charles Shearer, president Transylvania University; Clay Turner, son of crash victim Larry W. Turner; Matthew Snoddy, son of crash victim Tim Snoddy; Kyra Fredrick, widow of Bart Fredrick; Denny Trease of WKYT-Channel 27; Rabbi Marc Kline; and Lt. Stewart Dawson, chaplain of the Lexington Division of Fire and Emergency Services.
