His wife, Brenda Hastings, no age available, was reported in good condition at the University of Kentucky Hospital on Friday morning. She was flown to UK.
Both riders were wearing helmets, Kentucky State Police said.
According to troopers, the Hastingses were traveling south on I-75 at 8:33 p.m. Thursday when their Honda motorcycle left the roadway about eight miles south of London and struck a guard rail.
Michael Hastings was a driver for Harrington Trucking in Marysville, according to Sandy Harrington, who operates the business.
“He was very safety conscious about that motorcycle and rode it everywhere,” Harrington said. “It’s very sad.”
