The U.S. Equestrian Federation is calling for donations for its disaster relief fund to help equine victims of Hurricane Ike along the Gulf Coast in Texas. Contributions to the fund go to a restricted account that is dispersed to help those trying to feed, house and evacuate horses.
"Horsemen and women from all across the country have watched the tragedy unfold in the Gulf Coast and want to help in whatever way they can," said John Long, USEF CEO. "A donation to the disaster relief fund is a way to provide coordinated and directed support for equine emergencies. There are no administrative fees here. Every dollar that comes in goes out a dollar."
