A precautionary boil-water advisory has been issued for approximately 350 Kentucky American Water customers in northern Scott County as a result of a water main break Tuesday near Mallard Point.
The advisory affects all Kentucky American Water customers who live in Mallard Point and on Blackberry Ridge Drive, Summer Ridge Drive, Westwood Drive, Autumn Lane and Wright's Lane.

Northern Elementary School is included in the boil-water advisory, and Kentucky American Water crews delivered 100 cases of bottled water to the school before students arrived.
Kentucky American Water crews were on the scene, repairing the main.
During a boil-water advisory, it is recommended that customers boil for three minutes any tap water they intend to use for consumption, including for drinking, cooking or making ice.
