Funerals set for UK crash victims

A University of Kentucky student injured in a fatal wreck on Interstate 75 on Sunday was listed in fair condition Monday at University of Kentucky Hospital.

Ben M. Cooley, 18, of Harrodsburg, was flown to UK Hospital after the two-vehicle crash in Rockcastle County. He was in good condition Monday morning, according to UK Public Relations. But his condition was later downgraded to fair.

UK students Thomas B. May, 20, of Louisville and Bradley A. Hall, 18, of Rockfield died in the crash.

The funeral for Hall will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Clear Fork Baptist Church in Rockfield. J.C. Kirby & Son Funeral Chapels, 820 Lovers Lane, in Bowling Green is handling arrangements. Visitation at the funeral home will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, and 9 a.m. until the funeral Thursday.

The funeral for May will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Kenwood Heights Christian Church, 5610 New Cut Road, Louisville. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. J.E. Ratterman & Son, 7336 Southside Drive. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery, 4400 Bardstown Road.

The three students were returning to UK from a fall retreat in Laurel Lake, said Daniel Berry, Baptist Campus Ministry director at UK.

Baptist Campus Ministry students are planning a memorial for 7 p.m. Tuesday at Calvary Baptist Church in Lexington, according to WKYT-TV.
