Lexington police are investigating the death of a 41-year-old man whose body was found outside a car repair shop Sunday.
Ernest Mackto of Lexington may have been dead for some time before someone found the body about 2 p.m. in a lot adjacent to Sturgill Car Care Center at 901 Newtown Pike, according to the Fayette County coroner's office.

The coroner's office called the death a homicide. Lexington police Lt. James Curless said police consider the death suspicious.
Curless said Mackto was involved in a domestic dispute late Saturday that included a physical altercation. Mackto fled before police arrived.
Mackto had a wound to the back of his head and "had been lying outside all night," a coroner's report said.
An autopsy was scheduled for Monday.
