Power outage affects 2,700 KU customers

More than 2,700 Kentucky Utilities customers in north Lexington experienced a power outage Sunday afternoon, a company spokesman said.

The outage is thought to have been caused by a "bad breaker" in the Joyland substation, which serves a wide area around Paris Pike and north and south of Interstate 75, said KU spokesman Cliff Feltham.

The outage happened at about 4:20 p.m. but all customers had power back on by 7:10 p.m., Feltham said.
