Foods worker charged in EKU fire

A Richmond man was arrested this week on charges that stem from a January arson at Eastern Kentucky University.

James Reynolds, 25, was arrested Monday on charges of arson, wanton endangerment and criminal mischief, EKU spokesman Marc Whitt said. He was released from Madison County jail Friday on a $1,000 bond.

Reynolds was employee of Aramark, the university's food service company. Campus officals said they are not sure about his work status since he worked for Aramark.

EKU police say Reynolds is responsible for a small fire that was found in the Powell Student Center loading dock Jan. 22. It only took crews about two minutes to put out the fire, which turned out to be a burning cardboard, Whitt said.

Police said this fire is not connected to three other small fires that occurred that week, Whitt said.
