A Lexington man died late Saturday after he stepped in front of a car moving outbound on Richmond Road near Patchen Drive.
The Fayette County coroner on Sunday said that Earl Cassity, 47, died of blunt-force trauma at the University of Kentucky hospital shortly after a 2000 Ford Mustang hit him at about 11 p.m.
There is no crosswalk on the busy road where Cassity attempted to walk in front of the car.
Police did not name the 19-year-old driver of the car, who was not charged.
