A toddler spotted floating in the water on Monday night at Jacobson Park was rescued by a passerby.
A man told firefighters he was walking over a bridge at the park, looked down and saw a young boy about six feet from the shore. He said he jumped in and grabbed the boy, Lexington Fire Capt. Paul Abercrombie said.
The man and another person said they performed CPR on the boy.
When firefighters arrived, the boy was alert and appeared to be OK. He was cold and they wrapped him in blankets, Abercrombie said. They took him to the University of Kentucky hospital to be evaluated.

The boy's mother was at the park, but did not say how her son got into the water, Abercrombie said.
