The Nicholas County High School principal has been placed on paid administrative leave while the district investigates an incident between him and a student.
Joe Orazen, who formerly taught at Lexington's Henry Clay High School and was an assistant football coach there, was placed on leave after the Feb. 10 incident, said Hank Bond, the school district's spokesman.
The school district has not released the student's name because he is a juvenile.
Bond said the superintendent's policy is for staff being investigated to "not be in the building."
Bond declined further comment.
