Three people were killed in a two-vehicle collision early Friday in Johnson County, state police said.
State police had not confirmed the identities of two of the victims. They were burned beyond recognition after their pickup truck burst into flames, said Trooper Mike Goble, spokesman for the Pikeville state police post.
The two are thought to be local residents, but medical examiners may have to use dental records to conclusively identify them, Goble said.
The third person killed in the wreck was Johnson County's Dustin Rodriguez, who was in his early 20s.

Rodriguez was thrown from the pickup truck and so was not burned, Goble said.
The wreck happened on U.S. 460 about 8 a.m. and involved a Pepsi-Cola delivery truck and the pickup with the three occupants.
The delivery driver, 41-year-old Ricky Brown of Johnson County, was injured but was in stable condition late Friday afternoon, Goble said.
Brown told police that the pickup was in his lane as it approached, so he swerved into the oncoming lane to avoid contact. But the pickup driver then swerved back on to that side of the road, Goble said.
