Beshear announces KDP chair

Governor Steve Beshear announced that Owensboro attorney, Charlie Moore, will succeed Jennifer Moore as Chair of the Kentucky Democratic Party.

The selection of Moore was approved Saturday by the State Central Executive Committee of the Kentucky Democratic Party, according to a news release.

Charlie Moore, 60, has been active in the Democratic Party since being elected a precinct chair at the age of 18; he has been involved with Democratic campaigns dating back to Wendell Ford's campaign for Lt. Governor, and served as a delegate to the 2000 and 2008 Democratic National Conventions. Moore is a civil litigation attorney in Owensboro.
