A Stanford man struck a Danville police officer and Boyle County bailiff with his pickup truck while fleeing from the scene of a domestic violence call early Sunday.
Police and at least one sheriff's deputy and the bailiff responded to the call at a Danville house at about 1:20 a.m. When they arrived, Justin Wiley, 31, of Stanford, took off in a Ford pickup. As Officer Daniel Grigsby and Dustin Clem, the bailiff, ordered Wiley to stop, the pickup accelerated and hit both men, according to police. The two men were treated for minor injuries to the lower torso, a police spokeswoman said.
Danville police later arrested Wiley, who was charged with wanton endangerment, assault, evading police and driving under the influence. Police also arrested Daniel Langford, who was charged with assault in relation to the original domestic violence call, according to police.
