A Mount Sterling woman was shot and killed Friday night.

Aimmee Charles, 27, was shot in the head at her home on the 200 block of Richmond Avenue just after 9 p.m., said Montgomery County coroner Wallace Johnson.

Johnson said the shots were fired from outside the home.

No one else was injured, but Johnson said at least one other person — Charles' young daughter, who has cancer — was at home at the time.
