Lexington's first bank robbery of 2009 took place around 4:15 p.m. Friday when a man showed a note demanding money to a teller at a National City Bank, 720 Euclid Avenue, authorities said.
The man fled into a taxi and got out of it near Cooper Drive and Eldemere Road, Lexington police said.
Officers later arrested Billy Joe Kilgore, 29, of Middletown, Ohio, on a charge of second-degree robbery.
Police said Kilgore matched the description of the suspect and was found at a home on the 800 block of Cooper Drive. Officers said they found money and evidence believed to have been used during the robbery at the home.
