The Jessamine County Sheriff's Office seeks the public's help in the investigation of a Monday night hit-and-run accident involving a pedestrian.
Margaret Stafford, 47, of Nicholasville was jogging toward town on the city's east side when she was struck by a vehicle that then left the scene, said Deputy Sheriff Allen "Doodle" Peel.
Stafford was hit about 10:45 p.m. Monday at Union Mill Road and Orchard Drive, near the new East Jessamine Middle School that's under construction, Peel said. He was not sure whether Stafford was wearing reflective clothing.
Stafford is in serious condition at University of Kentucky Hospital, Peel said. He did not know the extent of her injuries.
