A 27-year-old Jackson County man was charged Sunday with second-degree robbery and second-degree assault, accused of stealing $1,400 in cash and a vehicle, Kentucky State Police said.
Police were called to the Town & Country Motel in McKee about 11 a.m. Sunday for a reported assault. The victim, Todd James McKinney, 63, said Shawn McKinney, 27, attacked him and took the cash and his white 1992 Ford Ranger with license 749-JGE.
Shawn McKinney was arrested about 2:50 p.m. Sunday at a home on Lunsford Hollow Road. He was being held at the Jackson County Detention Center.
Todd McKinney was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Berea for injuries to his face, state police said.

The vehicle had not been found.
