Police: Pulaski mom left kids alone to buy meth ingredients

A Pulaski County mother and her boyfriend have been charged with leaving two young children unattended while the adults went to shop for materials to make methamphetamine.

Maura Wallen, 19, and Calvin Corrigall, 24, of Burnside allegedly locked Wallen's children, ages 2 and 3, in a bedroom at their mobile home while they went to a store, according to the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office.

The children's aunt came to visit and found the kids alone. She called authorities, Lt. Brett Whitaker said.

"The actions by these two adults placed the children in grave danger should a crisis occur while the adults were absent," Whitaker said.

The incident happened March 22.

Police obtained warrants charging Wallen and Corrigall with first-degree criminal abuse, a felony.

Police arrested Wallen Wednesday, but they hadn't located Corrigall, according to a news release.
