A Danville man was in serious condition at University of Kentucky Hospital after he was hit in the head with the claw end of a hammer. Danville police are looking for a suspect and his father.
Roy Ogle, 56, told police that he was beaten Sunday night while drinking with two other men who live in the same Harding Street apartment building, Danville Police Chief Jay Newell said.
Shortly after 11 p.m. Sunday, police were called to the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center emergency room, where Ogle was initially taken for treatment.
Ogle said he'd been hit in the head several times by Clinton Martin, 19, in an unprovoked attack with the claw end of the hammer, Newell said.

Martin and his father fled, and Ogle went to another apartment, whose resident took him to the hospital.
During an authorized search of the apartment shared by Martin and his father, John Martin, 50, police found a hammer that they suspect was used in the attack.
Police have obtained an arrest warrant charging Clinton Martin with attempted murder. He and his father also are wanted for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Anyone who knows the location of the Martins may call Danville police at (859) 238-1220.
