Police roped off a section of Seventh Street as they searched for a man who robbed a bank Tuesday afternoon.
The man walked into a Chase Bank on North Broadway and yelled at the bank teller, Lexington Police Sgt. Ann Gutierrez said. He gave the teller a note that demanded money. He never showed a weapon.
The teller gave the man an undisclosed amount of money, and he ran from the bank toward downtown. No customers were in the bank at the time.
The robber was thought to be in the Seventh Street area, Gutierrez said. He was described as a light-skinned black male with a tattoo under his right eye. He was wearing a dark-hooded sweatshirt over a white shirt and a knit cap with the letter B or D on the front.
