W. Ky. teacher/coach charged with burglary

MAYFIELD — Police say a teacher and coach in Western Kentucky has been charged with three counts of burglary.

The Paducah Sun reports that a camera set up at a southern Graves County home allegedly shows James B. Forthman Jr., 35, going inside.

Deputy Sheriff Jeremy Prince's report says it appears that Forthman forced his way through a side door Monday in an unsuccessful attempt to find pain pills. He also is accused of burglarizing the home twice in March.

Forthman is a physical education teacher at Graves County High School and coaches girls' basketball.

It wasn't immediately clear whether he had an lawyer, but he was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday morning.

Graves County Superintendent Pete Galloway declined to comment other than to say the district hadn't taken action against Forthman.
