Dunbar grad to teach in Taiwan

A Lexington native and senior at the University of Louisville has been awarded a prestigious Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship in Taiwan.

Carl Williams, a 2005 graduate of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School, was among six U of L students to receive Fulbright fellowships this year.

The program, funded by the U.S. State Department, sponsors international educational exchanges between American college students and recent graduates and those in more than 155 countries.

Williams is a political science major who is on track to graduate next month. He spent part of 2008 studying at Beijing Foreign Studies University and plans to pursue a law degree with an international business specialization, according to a statement from U of L.
