A Harlan County musician died in a house fire early Tuesday morning, said deputy coroner Jim Bush.
Arthur Johnson, 81, died in his bedroom in the back of his Cumberland house, after a fire started about 2 a.m. Tuesday in front end of his home, in a living room, Bush said. His body was burned, but the cause of Johnson's death could be smoke inhalation and will be determined by an autopsy in Frankfort, Bush said.
The cause of the fire is also under investigation and was possibly electrical, officials said, but no foul play is suspected.
Mr. Johnson, who was blind and used to tune pianos, was well-known in Cumberland, in part because he played music every year at a festival at Southeast Community and Technical College. "He was a real talented musician," Bush said.
