One person died and three others were seriously injured in a crash on Russell Cave Road Monday night.
A white Toyota Camry was outbound on Russell Cave between Faulkner Avenue and I-75 when it swung into the inbound lane, then went back into the outbound lane, hit a rock wall and hit a tree head-on, said Lt. Richard Bottoms of the Lexington Police. He said it's unclear what caused the driver to swerve into the inbound lane.
Three of the victims had to be extricated from the vehicle, and one managed to crawl out.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others were taken by helicopter to the University of Kentucky Hospital, and another was taken by ambulance. All had very serious injuries, Bottoms said.
