1 of 3 injured Bryan Station students shows improvement

One of three Bryan Station High School students injured in a fatal wreck on Russell Cave Road on Monday night has improved.

Jasmine Marks, 16, was listed in serious condition Wednesday at University of Kentucky Hospital; she had been in critical condition.

The driver, Nicolas Petit-Frere, 17, remained in critical condition, and the fourth passenger, Kierra Fulz, 17, was in fair condition.

Freshman Nathaniel Lee Stuckey, 15, died in the crash between Faulkner Avenue and Interstate 75.

The three survivors are Bryan Station juniors, according to school officials.

Lexington police have said the driver, Nicolas, lost control and swerved off the narrow, two-lane stretch of Russell Cave about 7 p.m. Monday. The car then went back into the outbound lane and hit a rock wall and a tree.

Police said the car was going faster than the posted 55 mph when it crashed.
