Two people died Wednesday in Lincoln County after their car hydroplaned and collided with another vehicle, Lincoln County Sheriff Curt Folger said.
The accident occurred about 5:30 p.m. on U.S. 27 at Hall's Gap, about 2 miles south of Stanford.
Folger said that a northbound Pontiac Grand Am hydroplaned on a puddle of water as it came down Hall's Gap Hill. The Grand Am collided with a southbound Toyota Tacoma.
The driver of the Pontiac, Wanda Nance, 29, was dead on arrival at Fort Logan Hospital in Stanford, the sheriff said. A passenger in the car, Greg Hager, 31, died at the scene. A puppy in the car also died. Nance had a Michigan driver's license, but she and Hager were thought to be living in the Highland area of Lincoln County, Folger said.
