Jonathan "Bud" Mackey, a former Scott County High School basketball star, has been arrested again, this time on charges relating to a gun.
Mackey, 19, of 271 Williamsburg Lane in Lexington, was arrested early Thursday morning. He was charged with being a convicted felon in possession of a handgun and receiving stolen property (firearm), according to Fayette District Court documents.
He was arrested just before 4 a.m. after Lexington police received a call of shots fired in the area of 1510 Versailles Road. According to Officer B.K. Hill, Mackey was sitting on a couch inside an apartment at that address when police arrived at the scene.
"When I asked to see his hands, the subject acted like he was hurt, fell to the ground in front of the couch and started reaching with his right arm," the officer wrote on an arrest document.

Hill said that Mackey was handcuffed, and afterward police searched under the couch and found a handgun. The handgun was stolen from Franklin County, according to police.
Mackey was lodged in the Fayette County Detention Center under full cash bonds totaling $12,500. There was also a "holder" of $10,000 from Scott County listed on the documents. Mackey is to appear in court at 1 p.m. Friday.
Mackey pleaded guilty in August to an amended charge of first-degree possession of a controlled substance. The plea stemmed from a September 2007 arrest at Scott County High School after police said he had 1.6 grams of rock cocaine in his shoe.
Mackey was sentenced to two months in jail and community service in October.
