Human remains were found Friday in the Indian Creek community of Knox County, but investigators still do not know the identity of the person.
State police learned about the remains at about 4 p.m., and Dr. Emily Craig, the state medical examiner, was called to the scene to verify that they were human.
The body has been sent to the state police crime lab in Frankfort for further study, according to a press release from the state police.
Knox County Coroner Mike Blevins would not provide information about the condition of the body or say how long the person might have been dead because the case is still under investigation.
