A body was found in a burning car about 6 a.m. Tuesday in a remote area of Johnson County, Kentucky State Police said.
Employees of CSX Inc. saw the car burning from railroad tracks near Offut.
Firefighters who arrived at the gravel road off Ky. 2040 found a body. The state medical examiner will have to determine whether the body is a man or woman, said Trooper Mike Goble with the Pikeville state police post.
The nearest home is more than a half-mile away, Goble said.
