A Scott County jail inmate was found dead Monday night in an apparent suicide, coroner John Goble said.
Jeremy Lynn Alcorn, 22, of Georgetown hanged himself in the shower using his T-shirt, the coroner said.
Jail officials had not seen Alcorn for about 20 minutes before his body was found by other inmates.
Foul play is not suspected, Goble said.
Alcorn, who was being held on a charge of third-degree criminal mischief, was not on suicide watch, according to jail records. He did not suffer from any mental illnesses and was not considered violent, records say.
