A Bell County grand jury indicted a former dentist Wednesday on five counts of jury tampering stemming from a February mistrial.
Craig Ralston was on trial in Bell County in February on charges of defrauding the Kentucky Medicaid Assistance Program, according to the office of the Kentucky Attorney General.
During a break Feb. 17, Ralston allegedly tried to influence jurors when he made comments to them outside the courtroom. Officials ordered a mistrial. Ralston was held in contempt of court and arrested.
A new trial date in the Medicaid case is set for Aug. 11 in Bell Circuit Court. No date has been set for arraignment in the jury tampering case.
