2 charged after woman, baby held at gunpoint, Lexington police say

Two people were charged after a Lexington woman with a baby in her arms was robbed of cash and a cell phone at gunpoint Monday while at her home on Brynell Drive, police said.

According to Lexington police spokesman Lt. Ron Compton, Audreal Hopkins, 19, and James David Wilson, 20, were arrested and charged with first-degree robbery. Wilson was also charged with kidnapping.

The family of the woman who was robbed reported that the robbers at one point grabbed the infant and put a gun to the baby's head during the theft. No one was hurt.
