Lexington mosquito spraying schedule

The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department will spray neighborhoods for mosquitoes starting Monday and ending July 31.

The spraying will start in the evening when mosquitoes are most active.

40502: 9 p.m.-midnight Tuesday and July 29; 3-6 a.m. Friday.

40503: 3-6 a.m. Wednesday; 9 p.m.-midnight July 27 and 30.

40504: 9 p.m.-midnight Monday and July 28; 3-6 a.m. Thursday.

40505: 3-6 a.m. Tuesday; 9 p.m.-midnight Thursday and July 29.

40507: 9 p.m.-midnight Wednesday and July 30; 3-6 a.m. July 28.

40508: 9 p.m.-midnight Wednesday and July 30; 3-6 a.m. July 28.

40509: 9 p.m.-midnight Tuesday and July 27; 3-6 a.m. July 30.

40510: 9 p.m.-midnight Monday and July 28; 3-6 a.m. Thursday.

The procedure uses Duet, a spray produced by Clarke Mosquito Control that arouses the insects, and sumithrin, an agent that kills them, the health department said in a release. "Duet has been rigorously tested for human and animal safety and is registered for outdoor residential and recreational areas," the department said. People can go outside immediately after Duet is sprayed, and the product does not corrode or stain, the department said.
