A section of East Third Street that had been closed since Monday reopened early Wednesday.
A leaning building at Warnock and Third streets that had threatened to collapse was demolished overnight.
The two-story brick building started falling apart Sunday.
Property records list the building as being built in 1948. But Bettie Kerr, director of the city's Division of Historic Preservation, said it appeared on an insurance map in 1934. From architectural details, she guessed it dated from the 1910s or early '20.
