GEORGETOWN — A Georgetown woman died Wednesday night after her car struck a tree in Scott County, Coroner John Goble said.
Retha L. Purcel, 45, was northbound on Cincinnati Pike Wednesday when her car left the road for an unknown reason, Goble said. Purcel, who was not wearing a seat belt, never used her brakes.
Goble pronounced Purcel dead at the scene about 11:25 p.m.
Alcohol is suspected in the wreck, but Goble said it would be weeks before he received toxicology reports.
