Less than three weeks after his former roommate was convicted of murdering his 6-year-old grandson, Bobby Gene Mullins has died. He was 58.
Mr. Mullins died Sunday at his home in Clay City after a long illness.
He was a key witness last month in the trial of Lewis "Buck" Ballard, 51, who was found guilty of murdering and sodomizing Wesley Dylan Mullins in August 2007.
Wesley had been spending the night with his grandfather, who eventually found him in the garage in a pool of blood.
