Woman robbed outside Walmart

A woman was robbed by two men shortly after 2 p.m. Sunday in the WalMart parking lot on Nicholasville Road.

According to Lexington police, the men had been watching Carol Young shopping on the east side of town. Young was confronted in the Walmart parking lot when she got out of her vehicle. A grab was made for Young's purse and she fought to keep it, even though one of the men had a handgun, according to Lexington police Lt. Chris Van Brackel. One man hit Young in the face.

During the struggle, Young's wallet fell out of her purse and the two men took off with it. A bystander got the license number of the vehicle the men fled in.
